DUPRAZ SHAPE
TECH ROOM
THE CRAZY D1 SHAPE BET
FOR EVERYONE - EVERYWHERE - UNDER ALL CONDITIONS

How can you reconcile the following parameters in one snowboard?

Performance and ease in deep snow.

Carving performance on hard snow without the need for a high level of physical fitness or a large technical background.

Accessible and efficient for all levels, in all snow conditions.

The original feeling of snowboarding, returning to the forgotten fundamentals of the sport.

Bet's on. The Dupraz D1 shape is the reference since 2003. It generates an in-depth transformation of board shapes, categories and practice. To the delight of all snowboarders.

Here are the main advantages of the Dupraz D1 shape

POWDER FLOTATION
OR HOW TO SMOKE YOUR BUDDIES

Physics explains it to us: deep snow is water in another state. Flotation depends on the bearing surface, which is the result of size and width.

The D1 shape offers a much larger bearing surface than the usual snowboards on the market.

While tiring less, the rider evolves more on the surface, by pushing less snow, and can therefore slide faster.

ACCELERATION & SPEED
OR HOW TO AVOID PAYING FOR A ROUND

A surface that is less opposed to the element by its angle and shape makes it easier to penetrate the element. Water, air, snow?

The progressive and pointed spatula shapes, identical to big wave surfing, are logical and extremely efficient.

Easier to start and gain speed, faster and more accurate where they all stop, we keeps slipping away...

STABILITY AND COMFORT
MORE HOURS OF RIDING, LESS FATIGUE

The shape of the front combined with the foot positions, flex and materials are revealed to gain stability.

Exclusive to Dupraz: a foot position closer to the area where the board comes in contact with the snow.

The imperfections of the terrain do not slow you down and make you less tired. Even with a few tracks you still feel like you're surfing in powder snow.

GRIP ON HARD SNOW
BY THE INVENTOR OF CARVING

The physical parameters that interact for a powerful hook are many and complex.

D1s have a short effective edge length where every centimetre of edge in contact with the snow receives maximum pressure.

Simply tilting the D1 and putting it on its edge naturally takes us into stable and powerful support.

MANOEUVRABILITY & TOLERANCE
THE PLAYGROUND MOUNTAIN

Combine flex with a hollowed edge line, add movement and it generates a curve.

The very pronounced edge line of the D1 combined with a finely distributed bending pushes the D1 very easily through curves and bends.

With less need for technical baggage and physical condition, the rider plays with the terrain more naturally, fluidly and instinctively.

Each component of the shape can be explained in a perfectly logical way, each parameter has its role to play and is precisely reflected and calibrated in this assembly which constitutes the D1.

The shape of the spatula, its tip, the shape of the nose rocker, its maximum height, the maximum width at the front, the unique shape of the edge line, the sidecut or edge line which is not simply the arc of a large radius but is made up of an assembly of negative and positive radius curves, the width of the tail and therefore the pintail, its height, the camber with its values and its positioning, the positioning of the inserts and their number?
I will not describe here everything concerning the assembly of the materials and their choice, where original choices were also made.

At Dupraz nothing is left to chance, the know-how is the fruit of 40 years of experience of a snowboard pioneer shaper: Serge Dupraz.

Shaper is an Art, D1 is the quintessence of it.
